Energean is seeking to employ a Senior Accountant to join the Group Reporting team in London. The role will support the preparation of consolidated financial reporting, work closely with international finance teams and external auditors, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality IFRS reporting at group level.

This is a broad role offering exposure to complex accounting matters and international operations.

Key Accountabilities:

Group reporting and consolidation

 Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual group reporting processes;
 Review submissions from international finance teams and ensure consistency with group accounting policies;
 Execute consolidation processes and reconciliations.

Technical accounting

 Analyse complex accounting matters and prepare technical accounting papers under UK-adopted IFRS;
 Support the implementation of new accounting standards and group accounting policies;
 Contribute to preparation of disclosures for annual and interim financial statements.

Audit and external reporting

 Work closely with external auditors during interim and year-end audits;
 Support preparation of audit deliverables and respond to audit queries;
 Assist with preparation of papers for senior management and Board / Audit Committee.

Group finance projects

 Support improvements to group reporting processes and systems
 Assist with finance transformation initiatives including consolidation system in SAP and KPI reporting automation
 Contribute to development and documentation of group accounting policies and manuals.

Qualifications, Skills &amp; Experience:

 ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
 Strong knowledge of IFRS and group consolidation
 Experience in group reporting or audit of large international groups, oil &amp; gas or another industry
 Strong analytical and communication skills
 Ability to work with multiple international stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

Manage purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank reconciliations, and day-to-day bookkeeping activities.
Process supplier invoices, customer payments, and employee expenses accurately and efficiently.
Support weekly and monthly payment runs, ensuring timely supplier payments.
Assist with credit control, customer account queries, and cash flow monitoring.
Support month-end processes, reconciliations, and preparation of financial reports.
Help improve finance processes, maintain financial records, and support wider finance administration.

About You

Previous experience in transactional finance, either in Accounts Assistant or Finance Administration role.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting &amp; Accounting Framework

Support the maintenance and ongoing development of the accounting and financial reporting framework, including accounting policies, procedures, and related processes
Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements for group entities and contribute to the consolidation process
Ensure financial data is complete, accurate, and consistent across legal entities

Internal Controls &amp; Risk Management

Support the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of internal controls within the financial reporting framework
Assist in monitoring financial risks and ensuring adherence to internal policies and procedures
Prepare, perform and review reconciliations, ensuring timely identification and resolution of discrepancies
Perform quality assurance on various aspects of Finance Team output

Compliance &amp; Regulatory Reporting

Assist in compliance-related financial processes, including:
Preparation and submission of statutory financial statements
Coordination of tax filings with internal stakeholders and external advisors
Tracking and support of audit recommendations and action plans
Support compliance with applicable company laws, reporting requirements, IFRS or GAAP standards, and local tax regulations

Audit Support

Assist in the planning and coordination of annual external audits
Prepare audit documentation and liaise with auditors to support efficient audit execution
Support the resolution of audit queries and follow-up actions

Co-ordination and Communication

Support the management of relationship / interaction with external service providers, relevant to the finance framework
Support internal communication in finance matters

Qualifications &amp; Skills

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
At least three years of work experience in a similar role
Initial professional qualification in accountancy or financial reporting preferred
Knowledge of IFRS
Conceptual understanding of statutory reporting and tax-related legal requirements
Experience with auditing
Experience or exposure to accounting systems (e.g. Xero or similar) and Excel
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Good organisational and communication skills

What You’ll Be Doing

In this busy and exciting role, you will manage the Management Accounting activities for the site, providing insightful financial analysis and accurate reporting to support decision-making across operations and commercial teams.

Role Accountabilities

 Build a deep understanding of site cost drivers and maintain accurate costing models
 Prepare, review and present costings for current and future product ranges, supporting NPD and EPD activity
 Oversee accurate setup and maintenance of standard costs
 Monitor, report and present KPIs, providing commentary and highlighting risks or opportunities
 Support forecasting processes and alignment with key stakeholders and Group requirements
 Deliver ad hoc modelling and analysis to support operational and commercial decisions
 Provide financial analysis for Capex proposals, including ROI validation
 Lead post‑capital reviews to assess project performance
 Act as site finance lead on minor project implementations
 Provide clear commentary on P&amp;L movements and variances versus forecast and last year

What We’re Looking For

 Experience in a similar management accounting role
 Strong communication skills
 Confident working with data and producing insightful analysis
 Able to work at pace and meet deadlines
 Self‑motivated and able to work independently to drive actions
 Experience with Finance ERP systems (desirable)
 ACCA/CIMA part‑ or fully‑qualified (desirable)
