We are hiring someone to take ownership of financial controlling across the group. This is a hands-on role combining review, direct execution where needed, and light analytical support.

Scope of Role &amp; Compensation

This is a contract role at around 60 hours per month, with a flexible working pattern and heavier focus around month-end. You will be paid £25 per hour.

You are responsible for the integrity, consistency, and reliability of the financials. You will work with a bookkeeper and external accountants, but you will own the output.

Core Responsibilities

Month-End Ownership

• Own the monthly close across all UK entities

• Review, complete, and correct work from the bookkeeper

• Ensure a consistent, accurate close each month

Balance Sheet Control

• Own the balance sheet across entities

• Ensure all key accounts are reconciled, supported, and understood

• Identify and resolve gaps, mispostings, or inconsistencies

• Maintain clean working papers and audit trail

Intercompany &amp; International Oversight

• Own intercompany postings and reconciliations end to end

• Keep balances aligned, cleared, and simple

• Review US and Greek entities monthly

• Ensure consistency and no drift in standards

Payroll &amp; Cash

• Ownership of payroll review is required, including checking outsourced payroll outputs against the financials.

• Review payroll outputs and ensure alignment with financials

• Track timing of inflows and outflows across entities

• Monitor supplier charges and recurring payments

• Keep concise notes on cash movements that need follow-up

• Maintain current ledgers so cash-flow checks are reliable

Year-End Preparation

• Prepare a clean, fully reconciled year-end file

• Produce schedules and supporting documentation

• Act as the primary interface for the external accountant

Analysis and Acquisition Support

• Provide basic financial analysis as needed, including trends, variances, and sanity checks

• Support tuck-in acquisitions with:

• high-level financial review of targets

• normalization of financials

• simple modelling and downside checks

• post-acquisition integration into Xero and reporting

• Maintain and enhance our clear, repeatable month-end process

Set Up/Amendments and Removing of Standing Orders.
Responsible for preparing and posting journals for cancelled cheques and recalled BACS.
Reconciliation and preparation of schedules, for all payroll allowance and deduction schedules. Investigation and resolution of any queries or errors. 
Reconcile Balance Sheet codes monthly and ensure all queries are dealt with in a timely manner.

Purpose Of The Role

Main Duties And Responsibilities

Support the Finance Manager with provision of information, analysis and reporting related to accounting transactions as required.

 Own the aged creditors report, ensuring the treasury team application of entries accurately reflects creditors owed.
Process creditor invoices and oversee the processing of car hire invoices.
Own the adoption and roll out of the vendor capture programme in the ERP to improve efficiency in invoice processing.
Raise purchase orders.
Manage the credit card process.
Support the implementation of the vendor portal.
Own the fixed asset register; processing additions, disposals, scrapping, depreciation and periodic reviews of assets for obsolesce, and impairment.
Inter-company reconciliations
Balance sheet reconciliations.
Act as primary owner for accounts email, including vendor and employee finance query management
Experience Required

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a finance team. PE company background an advantage.
Strong knowledge of ERP and expense software, Microsoft Dynamics an advantage.
AAT qualified, or part qualified ACCA, CIMA (or equivalent)
Relevant experience for the responsibilities in the role.
Solid experience in a multi-currency, multi-entity environment is a must.
Strong organisation, attention to detail and communication skills.

We have an opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join our Controllership team where they will play an integral role in our Accounting Organization! This role is responsible for supporting the Manager of Accounting, through execution of daily operations with limited supervision. They will be a key contributor to the monthly global financial close process, specializing in journal entries, account reconciliations and analyses with efficiency and accuracy.

A day in the life of a Senior Accountant on the Controllership team:

Prepare/review monthly balance sheet reconciliations in line with Blackline deadlines. Ensure the reconciliations are of a high quality with sufficient supporting documentation and all reconciling items are investigated in a timely manner and potential risks or opportunities are communicated to management.
Participate in regular meetings with Finance and other business partners to discuss areas of operational issues, aged balances, business updates, internal control updates and ensure any potential risks and issues are actioned or communicated upwards on a timely basis. Actions points are documented and followed up.
Work proactively with other team members, find opportunities for improvement and help support the business with any questions/issues that arise.
Perform analysis and special projects, as required.
Build relationships and regular communication with operational leaders to provide direct and timely assistance on matters that have accounting implications.
Provide vital information to facilitate the internal and external audit process.

What you’ll bring:

Degree in BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance or a similar BSc (Hons) in a related accounting field, Chartered Accountant (ACA) and the Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) designation is preferred.
Minimum 4 years accounting experience (public company and/or public accounting experience preferred).
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), along with a solid understanding of accounting principles, concepts and practices.
Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, creative problem solve and contribute efficiently and optimally in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

Suppliers 

Leading the supplier set up process for all new suppliers.

Tracking and detailing of all FX rate changes and variations which will impact client budgets.

Client Billing

Lead on setting up of new clients as required to be able to pay in project related currency

Ongoing monthly reconciliation of client invoicing &amp; payments, using the client budget as reference.
Tracking and detailing of all FX rate changes and variations which will impact client budgets

Miscellaneous

Develop robust and consistent systems, processes and documents which can be rolled out to all client teams
Identify and implement changes to improve both the efficiency of the financial process and the accuracy of the financial reconciliation
Ensure that all expense and company credit card costs are transferred to client jobs in a timely manner.
Undertake a regular review of client jobs to ensure that they can be cleared and closed as soon as possible.
Supporting the team with audit requests and ensuring all relevant back ups are saved.

We are seeking a Junior Management Accountant to join the growing finance function, this role sits within Jameel Motors UK Auto Retail, supporting both Farizon that launched their innovative SV in the UK in 2025 and AION that is coming to market in the Spring of 2026 to launch their EV models.

This is a hands-on, highly developmental role, ideal for an almost or newly qualified Accountant looking to build strong management accounting and commercial finance experience within a fast‑evolving retail environment.

The role will initially focus on establishing and embedding robust reporting processes for the retail business, before naturally evolving into broader commercial support and business partnering as the finance structure matures.

Key Responsibilities

Management Accounting &amp; Reporting

Support the development and production of monthly management accounts for the retail businesses
Assist with AP &amp; NR reporting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and control
Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of management reporting packs

Finance Operations &amp; Process Development

Help build and refine finance processes and controls
Support the setup and improvement of reporting structures as the retail finance function is established
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy and insight within reporting processes

Commercial Support &amp; Stakeholder Engagement

Develop effective working relationships across retail and commercial leadership teams
Provide financial insight to support decision-making as responsibilities broaden
Act as a proactive finance contact, able to take a brief and propose solutions

Systems &amp; Data

Work extensively with Excel to analyse and present financial data
Use and adapt to Dynamics 365 with Dealerbox, and potentially other finance systems
Support data integrity and reporting consistency across systems

Skills &amp; Experience

Essential

Almost or newly qualified ACCA or CIMA
Strong grounding in management accounting principles
Advanced Excel skills (e.g. pivots, lookups, data analysis)
Experience working with finance systems and large data sets
Ability to work independently, take ownership and deliver to deadlines

Desirable

Experience within automotive retail, wider retail or distribution environments
Exposure to Dynamics 365, Dealerbox or similar ERP / dealer management systems
Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting or commercial analysis
Prior involvement in setting up or improving reporting processes

Your Mission

The mission is to bridge the gap between our high-speed operations in Nairobi and our global reporting standards. You will be the Financial Controller’s right hand, taking full ownership of our audit and statutory footprint. This isn't just about 'doing the books', it’s about professionalising a global fintech scale-up, ensuring our financial engine is robust enough to support our expansion across hard and local currencies, and providing the transparency our lenders and regulators demand.

Your Responsibilities In This Role

Own month-end and year-end close, delivering accurate management accounts within agreed timelines.
Collaborate on both month end, reconciliation and other operational accounts
Actively involved in accounts payable and vendor management
Supporting in implementing the controls for revenue, payments, treasury and expenses, reducing risk and audit findings.
Lead statutory reporting and coordinate external audits across multiple entities.
Improve accounting processes and systems to support scale, automation and efficiency.

Must-have Requirements

3+ years’ post qualified experience in accounting, including experience in a high-growth fintech, payments or financial services business.
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
Experience with month-end close and preparing statutory financial statements.
Strong understanding of revenue recognition, reconciliations and financial controls.
Comfortable working with large datasets and high transaction volumes.
Be comfortable with using Excel and NetSuite (or similar).
Must be curious in using AI to make your role less manual to create more time for solving problems

Nice To Have Requirements

Experience working across multiple jurisdictions (UK, US, EU or Africa).
Exposure to safeguarding, client money or regulated financial environments.
Understanding of remittance
