As an Assistant Accountant, you will support the finance team, helping to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective financial control. Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial statements, and regulatory reporting.
Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journals, accruals, and prepayments.
Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business decision-making.
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including invoice processing and payment runs.
Prepare VAT returns and assist with other tax and compliance-related requirements.
Maintain strong financial controls and ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards.
Partner with stakeholders across Finance and the wider business to provide accurate financial information and reporting.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency and control environments.
ProfileThe successful applicant must have:
A relevant degree, with a 2:1 preferred.
Be part-qualified or actively studying towards ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
Recent experience within Financial Services, ideally within Wealth Management, Investment Management, Asset Management, or a related environment.
Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end accounting processes.
Advanced Excel skills and experience using accounting or finance systems.
Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Good communication skills and the confidence to build relationships across the business.
A proactive mindset with a desire to develop within a high-performing finance function.
Job Offer
Competitive salary between £40,000 and £50,000, dependent on the level of experience.
