Major Incident Manager

Major Incident Manager required to work with a Government department. This is an initial 6-month contract, paying GBP500 per day, inside IR35, remote (London will be the base office).

Active SC Clearance is required for this role. (or eligible for SC clearance)

Summary:

The EPIC Team (Event, Problem, Incident and CSI) are responsible for the delivery and improvement of day-to-day IT service. Maintaining service stability of IT systems to the business meeting our customers and major stakeholder needs, which involves managing major incidents, problems, providing timely communications, whilst working closely with our suppliers, within the Department and across Government with the aim to:

*Improve quality of service

*Improve customer satisfaction

*Reduce risk

*Improve flexibility

*Increase agility for new IT services

*Reduce IT costs

Responsibilities and Experience Required:

*Ability to drive the resolution of major issues with internal and external teams to drive Major incidents to resolution.

*Communicates incident status, resolution and business impact to internal and external stakeholders.

*Ability to prioritize multiple high priority issues at any given time without sacrificing SLA commitments.

*Oversees the completion of the post-mortem statement for all high severity, critically

*impactful incidents.

*Ability to foster internal relationships in order to organise incident resolution efforts as

*quickly and smoothly as possible.

*Gather data and generate reports within ITSM tool to provide trending of major incidents.

*Responsible for participating in implementing continual improvements for escalation. Best practice and Incident Management workflows.

*Communicate with a variety of technical teams, project managers, and executive leadership.

*Optimising Service management processes, defining and implementing metrics

*utilising information Technology infrastructure Library (ITIL) V3 framework/best practices.

*Integrates improved Service Management processing in a monitoring and reporting

*framework.
