Senior Security Consultant / Systems Design Engineer

As Principal Security Consultant you will join a multi-award-winning built environment consultancy as an integral member of the London office, focused on building resilience into the design and operation of the built environment.

Security Consultancy and Design assignments cover the assessment of both accidental and malicious risk; the design of buildings, infrastructure and other areas of the built environment; and the development of operational security procedures and innovative and optimised solutions which are both reliable and sustainable.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in the built environment, experience supporting the delivery of electronic and physical security consultancy and design services, and a willingness and enthusiasm to build and develop skills within the Electronic and Physical Security space, supported by the wider business.

Responsibilities

The successful Principal Security Consultant / Engineer will be responsible for:

* Supporting the delivery of medium to large scale projects as part of a multi-disciplinary design team consisting of other built environment and IT engineering disciplines associated with the built environment

* Provide consultancy, detailed designs, cost estimates and construction administration services in relation to the delivery of Electronic Security systems including; CCTV, Access Control, Perimeter IDS and Intruder Detection; Security Control Room configurations; Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) systems and IP interfacing/integration; PMR systems etc.

* Production of design deliverables including reports and drawings within agreed deadlines and budgetary constraints.

* Supporting the Leadership team with developing fee proposals, estimates; meeting with project teams and clients to develop opportunities; and presenting at external conferences and networking events.

* Provide or support the Leadership team with developing fee proposals, design documentation,

* Take a holistic approach to identifying solutions for clients; interfacing between Mechanical, Electrical, Building Management System (BMS), Smart Building and IT specialists.

Requirements

* Degree educated in either of Electronic Engineering, Security Systems, Computer Science, Digital Forensics, Information Security, Risk Management or a related discipline.

* Experience of working collaboratively in multi-disciplinary design teams within the built environment.

* Experience working directly with clients to understand their requirements and ensure these are being met during project delivery.

* Experience presenting to clients, considering both formal presentations such as at project completion and informal presentations such as design review workshops.

* Experience within an electronic security systems design and engineering environment

* Proficient in the Microsoft Office Product Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
