Supervisor for The Axe Pub in Stoke Newington. £11.50 per hour, plus monthly bonus scheme.

The Axe is an independent pub in Stoke Newington, with a big crowd of lovely locals and plenty of visitors from further afield coming for beer, cocktails, natural wines and excellent pub food. As an established and well-loved pub it is reliably busy every day of the week, especially in the colder months of the year. Sunday Roasts are particularly popular and is an important and fun day for the pub. We are also on the map for craft beer and take pride in our extensive and well cared for selection. There are 20 lines of keg beer and 3 cask, with the best stuff we can get our hands on.

We’re looking for a full-time supervisor to join the team. We are a relaxed and friendly team, committed to excellent service and ever-growing product knowledge. Candidates should be equally committed, speedy when necessary, curious by nature and enjoy a good chat with customers. Your supervisor duties will include running some quieter shifts, some opening and closing of the bar, cellar duties, a little bit of admin, leading by example and taking part in coaching the rest of the team. We do a mix of table service and bar service, which gives us both the opportunity to give better service to our customers, sell more of our full range of products, and brings in more tips for us.

We are part of the Grace Land group, home of Red Hand, The Earl of Es***, The Kings Arms, The Bethnal Green Tavern & The Black Heart. There is a nice sense of community amongst the venues with plenty of sharing staff and hanging out at each other’s sites.
