About the role The world streaming its TV online, a shift in TV consumption that is dramatically changing how advertisers target, reach and measure their preferred audiences in ways that broadcast TV never could. In this new world, Roku has re-written the rules of modern advertising, and we are looking for a great Account Executive who can partner with agencies and brands and show them how to best leverage this new advertising platform. This position is on the front lines of generating media ad sales and custom content sponsorship revenue on the Roku platform, and extending campaigns from connected TV onto web & mobile via the OneView ad platform. The ideal candidate will be evangelizing our advertising offering to agencies and brands direct. A background in digital video advertising, programmatic sales or sponsorship sales is required. Experience in planning or trading broadcast television is a plus. Must be driven to work independently and resourceful to manage many duties, including relationship building, developing sales proposals, delivering presentations, contributing feedback and leading a significant sales territory. The successful candidate will have the ability to develop a sales strategy and business plan to help drive new revenue streams for the ad business. Ideally you have worked in a digital start-up environment and are familiar with the required dedication for long hours, fast paced/multi-tasking duties and embraces uncertainty. What you will do in this role: Key individual contributor to revenue, work against aggressive advertising revenue goals - need to hit the ground running and be a fast learner Research, develop, and pitch media plans and promotions featured on Roku Lead of introducing the OneView Ad Platform to major agencies, and activating campaigns on the platform Proactively build and maintain a pipeline of sales targets, contacts, and sales opportunities via cold calling and leveraging your brand connections and their agencies Provide campaign management, optimization, reporting, recaps, and lead upsell opportunities Respond to RFPs, collaborate with editorial on sponsorable custom content solutions and support research & insight in the development of compelling case studies and campaign debriefs Report on revenue projections/forecasts We're excited if you have: 5+ years' experience in digital advertising, digital video and premium publishing preferred 3+ years of programmatic or platform sales background Extensive knowledge of the competitive landscape in both the TV and the ad tech industry. The ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical contacts.
