Job Description
DUE TO EXPANSION WE REQUIRE NEW AMBULANCE CARE ASSISTANTS TO JOIN OUR COMPANY HOURS AVAILABLE ARE MONDAY TO FRIDAY 16:00PM – FINISH, including alternate Saturdays
YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO START AND FINISH AROUND THE AREA AS YOU WILL BE WORKING WITHIN HOSPITAL GROUNDS WITH PATIENTS. FULL PPE PROVIDED WHILST ON SHIFT PLEASE NOTE; YOU MUST BE ABLE TO PROVIDE
You will be required to assist patients including wheelchair patients to and from the vehicle. (This can be physically demanding). Also helping patients to and from hospital departments. Maintain daily vehicle records, vehicle mileage and upkeep of the vehicle, reporting any defects immediately. Candidate must be flexible and approachable, have a calming manner, to be honest and have integrity. The candidate must have excellent communication skills and be able to interact well with people. Must be able to handle traumatic, emotional and distressing situations occasionally. Candidate will make sure patients are safe and comfortable during the journey and arrive on time for their appointment. Some patients may be anxious about their hospital visit and others will lead isolated lives so will value a friendly chat. (You might see the same people on a regular basis and get to know them) We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate a warm, positive and people focused attitude and who will go above and beyond to make our patients feel comfortable and cared for. Training will be provided
The ideal candidate will need:
• Disclosure and Barring Service Check (Due to the range of patients you may encounter, you are to complete a mandatory enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
• Ability to work to deadlines, at times under considerable pressure, without compromising standards of performance, calm under pressure •
The job also requires that all drivers are flexible to fit in with fluctuation in service demand or operational need on the contract, i.e. a flexible working pattern, (Between Monday and Saturday, hours to be discussed)
